Paid systemSix diagrams, one number behind all of them

Every dollar has one ceiling: $864 per booked demo, until opportunity data takes over.

That ceiling comes from the inbound audit: Startup-plan gross profit, paid back in 12 months. It is the whole 12-month gross profit, so it caps media and sales time together; how it splits is the first number I'd agree with your sales lead. The diagrams below are how I'd spend under it: what a click may cost, how a test becomes a campaign, what the platforms learn from, and what runs when.

01Bid ceiling

What a click may cost depends on the page, not the auction.

Most you can pay per click and stay inside $864 per booked demo. Doubling the page's booking rate doubles the bid you can afford on “apollo alternative”. That's why the page fixes come before the budget.

2% of clicks book a demo$17
3% of clicks book a demo$26
5% of clicks book a demo$43
8% of clicks book a demo$69

Max CPC = $864 × share of clicks that book: the ceiling if media took all of it. The real bid sits below it by the share agreed for sales time. Keyword Planner puts “apollo alternative” at €14–58 (about $16–67) top of page (US, 100–1k searches a month): at 2% you only win the cheapest auctions, at 5% about half the range, at 8% all of it.

02Test, then scale

Five angles, same budget each. Two survive.

Each angle gets its own ad set with the same budget, so the algorithm can't crown a winner on day one. No B2B ad set books 50 demos a week, so the test optimizes for a proxy (visits that reach the booking form) and reads demos across all five pooled. Survivors are confirmed on cost per booked demo over 4–6 weeks, then move to one consolidated campaign, stepped up about 20% every three days. Which two survive is the test's job; the highlight here is an example.

03Signal loop

Google learns from form fills. Teach it pipeline.

Today the site sends Google a lead event. The three steps after it live in HubSpot. Sent back as offline conversions, Google and Meta bid on the people who become opportunities, not the ones who fill forms. In iGaming this was the postback on deposits; same idea.

  3. Demo heldHubSpot meeting outcomeSend back as offline conversion
  4. OpportunityQualified by sales, with valueSend back as offline conversion
  5. Closed wonACV from the dealSend back as offline conversion

“Seen by Google today” is what the page's tags show from outside. Whether HubSpot already imports offline conversions isn't visible; it's the first thing I'd check.

04Retargeting

Three steps, one argument each, then stop.

Proof first, then volume of proof, then the offer. Frequency capped near three a week; anyone who books leaves every pool. Meta needs a pixel first: the site has none.

Who's in the pool

  • Read the vs-Apollo page
  • Watched half the film
  • Visited pricing
  • Opened /demo, didn't book

05Rivals' claims

Four rivals, four claims. On Google, none leads with a customer.

Of the 11 rival ads I sampled in Google's ad library, none names a customer result. On Meta, lemlist does (ElevenLabs, 7 ads). Amplemarket has three it can name: O'Reilly, Clara, LILT. That's the open lane. Nooks now makes the same one-workspace claim Amplemarket does, so that claim alone won't separate them.
